About me

A passion for helping others led me to pursue a career in medicine—one that allows me to provide my patients with high‑quality, compassionate care. I have been practising as a urologist since 1984, with a focus on delivering safe, effective surgical care and achieving optimal functional and clinical outcomes.
I qualified at the University of the Orange Free State (UOFS) in Bloemfontein in 1984, obtaining MMed in Urology cum laude. After three years in practice and also working as a part‑time consultant at the University Hospital, I relocated in 1988 to George, where I am based at the George Mediclinic. My consultation rooms are located on site, and all surgical procedures are performed at the hospital.
I am married to Rindie Bahlmann and am a proud father of three children and grandfather to five grandchildren. Outside of my professional life, I enjoy cycling, hiking, fishing, and travelling.
